Welcome to my homepage: My name is George Miller I live in West Lothian,Scotland. I have bred pigeons of all sorts for most of my life. My late Father was a very keen fancier and his frst love was Modenas. In the early years of my introduction to pigeons by my father we had many breeds: Fantails/Jacobins/Modenas and Tumblers of various sorts. These were kept for the pleasure they gave us either in the loft or when out flying. It was an amazing sight in those days, as not many people in the village had seen some of the breeds of domestic pigeons. They used to stand looking over the garden wall for hours in amazement and ask my father or myself what they were. I was always fascinated by Pouter/Cropper pigeons and when my father went into Edinburgh once a week to collect goods for the Family Store I went with him, as I knew there were fanciers in the town who flew Horseman Thief Pouters. We used to have our lunch and watch these Pouters flying at the same time. We then introduced Silesian/Ice and some Norwich Croppers into the lofts. These were even more friendly than the previous breeds we had and gave us a great welcome when we entered the lofts.We exhibited at a few local shows,then to the British Pigeon Show Society Exhibition held in December each year at Doncaster.I am a Member of the NPA Great Britain/National Horseman Pouter Club/Scottish Blower Club and present Secretary of All Spanish Cropper Club of Great Britain.I have had the pleasure of Judging on behalf of the aforementioned Clubs on numerous occasions which I relish, It is very difficult to get judges for some shows and one often see's the same judge doing the same breeds at shows throughout the year. We need more people willing to have a go at judging and for the Breed Clubs to make available Judging Tests compulsory as is done in Europe. Then we may see more justifiable awards being given.
